Caleb's 1st Easter

The Easter Bunny came!

He seemed pretty excited about his firefighter ducky and bath visors.
The Easter Bunny brought Caleb a bath basket. Caleb has recently developed a slight fear of bathtime, so I put in a good word for him with the Easter Bunny. He got bath visors, a rubber ducky spout cover, bath color drops that make the bath water all sorts of different colors, and a little toy that swims around the bath. We think we're just dealing with a little fear of not wanting water in our eyes, plus we're sitting up in the big bathtub now, so that may be adding to the anxiety a tad. We're making it super fun so we will not be scared of the bath...you're talking about one of the biggest bath lovers ever! Caleb has always loved bathtime. We're thinking it's just a phase that will pass...hopefully sooner than later because summer is on the way! Can't wait for the swimming pool. Caleb has already started enjoying the bath more since last week. I think it'll just take an adjustment period to the big tub. We haven't tried the visors yet, but I hear they really help keep water out of babies' eyes. To me, there's a fine line using visors because you don't want to encourage not ever getting your face wet, but you also don't want your baby to be absolutely terrified either. So, we're going with the flow! So far, so good, Little Man! I'm just glad you're starting to like the most relaxing part of your day again!! :)

Caleb had a great first Easter! We went to breakfast and church with Grammy and Granddaddy. It was fun for them to get to show off their grandson to all of their friends. Plus, Caleb was decked out with one of Grammy's outfits that she made for him. It turned out absolutely precious and fit just right! Thanks Grammy for the adorable outfit! A lot of time and hard work went into this special outfit and we love it, love it, love it! After church, we headed down to my parents' house for lunch. It was the first time in a long while where we had everybody together. So, needless to say, a big group shot was absolutely necessary. :) Mamaw Helen, we missed you! It wasn't complete without you!

Caleb, you have a very big family! This is just your immediate family (somewhat immediate I guess)...the list goes on and on. What a blessing to have such a large family...I'm going to have to put together a family book that has everyone's picture with their name so you can learn who everyone is (especially with not seeing everyone all of the time). It may turn out to be a chapter book! HA!

Caleb isn't too sure about this singing and dancing duck yet but he will be soon! Thanks for all of the Easter goodies Gigi and Grammy! Caleb loves everything!! :) And will love the duck soon! ;)

Such a little trooper! We had a very long day and a very happy baby! Believe it or not, this is at the end of the day. Thanks for being such an easy going baby, Caleb!

Sometimes eggs are just not enough...

I'll let this picture speak for itself.

Best buds.

Since we have changed pediatricians, we had an early 9 month checkup today in order to get caught up on shots and to check Caleb's ears. His ears are completely clear from his infections! After so many antibiotics, they should be clear for the next few years! :) We're praying for healthy ears for a good long while. We have started using ear plugs in the bathtub. A friend of mine suggested that after she saw such an improvement with her daughter's ears. It can only help. Caleb is really funny about his ears. No matter what he is doing at the time, he'll get very still and quiet when I clean his ears or put his earplugs in. It's almost as if he's helping me be careful. Anyway, we had an excellent appointment today, and turns out that Caleb was up-to-date on his shots. Since we were dealing with 2 different shot schedules with 2 different clinics, they told us we were behind on shots and we'd need to get him caught up today. Fortunately, he is already where he needs to be, so he got off scott-free today! :)

Caleb now weighs 18 lbs. 3 oz. (22%) and is 28 in. long (56%).

We love you, Bud! Happy Easter!
