Monday, Monday

Today has been a true Monday! You think of Mondays as being the day that is the hardest to get out of bed, you sleep past your alarm, you forget the lunch you made the night before, your car won't start (or better yet, your car smokes out the garage when you crank it up), or simply nothing goes the way you need it to in order to get the week off to a great start. Well...our "Monday" started yesterday when Jonathan got ready to leave for church. Oh, and I wish I'd had the camera nearby. Wasn't funny at the moment, and actually still isn't because we're still waiting on the estimate for the repair! YIKES! Jonathan started the Mazda and all of a sudden the garage was FULL of white smoke! It happened so fast. Fortunately, Caleb was safe and sound in his crib, but we got a big wiff of it! I was standing at the kitchen door motioning to Jonathan "TURN IT OFF!" And the thought did fly through my mind super fast..."What if the car blows up?! Then the house will catch on fire!" HA! Once Jonathan turned the car off, I walked back to look at the exhaust pipes and smoke was billowing out of both sides! I hear Jonathan say rather nonchalantly, "That's not good." LOL! Needless to say, he pushed the car back into the garage (thankfully it's a standard) and drove the Jeep to church. So, this morning, he cranked it up again and smoke went everywhere and off we went to drop it off at the shop. Caleb and I followed J to be sure he didn't break down on the way and of course to give him a ride to work. :) The car smoked the whole way there! Long story short, we've got a very expensive problem on our hands...so we're now anxiously awaiting the estimate...Thanks to Dave Ramsey (financial guru), everything will be just fine! :) We hope! If not, I'm sure Dave would say, "SELL THE CAR!" LOL!

Spending time with Caleb makes days like this SO MUCH BETTER and BRIGHTER! Playing with a baby makes life simple and care-free. Love it! I've heard many, many people say that babies will put stress in your life...and yes, there are plenty of stressors that come with bringing a baby home. But in a lot of ways, Caleb has taught me how to slow down and appreciate everyday. I don't get stressed out as much, and I find myself savoring my time with him. It's amazing how much a teeny-tiny person can teach you in such a short amount of time!
One things that brightens our day EVERYDAY is hearing Caleb laugh. I videoed Caleb laughing today after lunch, but unfotunately, I cannot upload it to my computer. Once I buy the right cord, I'll be sure to post it. He really likes it when you talk like Donald Duck (or my attempt at doing it anyway)...and he just laughs and laughs! I was so glad to catch in on camera! We did get some great pictures of Caleb discovering he can reach in his toy box, though. Jonathan took these tonight while playing with Little Man.
Yes! I can finally reach the toy box!
Let's see what we have here!
The letter A! That's in my name!
Hey, that's one of my bath toys! How'd that get in here?
Can't quite reach it!
Toy box eating break!
Hey Daddy! Whatcha doin'?

Got it!!!!
